With yeast and hops in our trunks we teamed up outside Barcelona in Catalunya to brew this beer containing; an array or specialty malts, rye, moscovado sugar, hops and a hand full of Spanish cranberries (literally a hand full so don’t expect a fruit beer). Layered yet fresh, we sincerely hope that this beer will embody the passion, enthusiasm and hard work that went into making it.

Purchased at Craft Beer Cellar in Belmont, MA; enjoyed on my hotel balcony porch after a big day of Acadia hiking in Bar Harbor, ME. Appearance is a hazy caramel brown with a rich and bubbly off white head that laces to the glass. Aroma is pretty sweet with a spiced hop profile, light yeast, smell is nice. Taste is highly carbonated, definitely has a sweet / sugar characteristic that leaves an interesting mouthfeel. There is a bit of a tin quality to this that I’m not particularly a fan of, decent beer.

33 cl. bottle. Dark amber colour with a huge, creamy off-white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, grapefruit, licorice, oranges, roasted malts and caramel. Spicy, fruity notes. Taste is light sweet. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Finishes bitter with herbal notes and licorice. Very enjoyable amber.

Bottle. A big, off-white to beige head forms over an unclear, chestnut colored body. The head soon diminishing. Rather herbal nose with cooked vegetables and some caramel hints. Reading the commercial description noticing the use of cranberries, I suddenly understand the rather strange note I didn’t know what to describe as is. Caramel, some piney, hoppy bitterness and herbal and berry notes in the flavor. Medium body, quite dry, leading to a bitter, piney and dry finish. Well, not bad at all, but not my kind of beer. 130430

Pours dark amber with a large head.Nose shows nutty, toasty and bready malt along with brown sugar and spicy, biscuity rye. Nice stuff.Toasty flavours with more rye. Almost roasty. Some spicy hops. Not all that interesting.Way too much carbonation.
