Pours ruby-tinged dark amber with a small off-white head.Nose shows resinous pine and some juicy fruits alongside loads of caramel and bready malt.Same story with the flavours, lots of rich sweet malt with some resinous pine. Bitterness doesn’t quite manage to balance the heavy malt.Carbonation could be a fair bit higher, it might even cut through the sweetness then.Extremely malty for an IPA but still very enjoyable.

Not sure why the IPA is rated lower than the pale ale, this is one of their best offerings, which doesn’t say much. Grapefruit, hops, no backbone and very moderately bittered finish. Yawn.

Bottled. Hazy pale yellow. Papaya aroma. Sweet and juicy with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. The malt profile is simple, and the hop rate surprisingly low, but still it manages to be pretty good.
