Draught at Smuggler’s, Nelson. Clear amber appearance. Fruity vegetable aroma with some soapy mangoes thrown in. Clean, sharp mouthfeel with strong compost heap flavours and some fatty off-flavours. Unpleasant resiny finish. Hardly drinkable.

(Bottle 33,5 cl) Extremely beautiful, dark amber coloured, filtered with a big, creamy off-white head leaving laces on the glass. Nice hoppy nose. Nutty aroma but not much body. In spite of no less than five, locally grown hops this beer is not very bitter. And then again - a deep sigh - this typical Macs bon-bon tang. Is it the house yeast?? Nah, it’s both in top- and bottom fermenting beers. It’s really sad and destroying for beers that have a much greater potential. 170305
