On handpull at Galbraith’s. Chocolate biscuits and a nice full creamy texture. Not hugely complex, but pretty good, even to a picky Englishman’s tastes.

very dark brown color. Very sweet hazelnut coffee nose. Like liqueur was dumped into coffee. Fairly sweet, a bit cloying. Very malty. Not really my cup of tea fr the style but not bad .

(Cask) Clear, dark brown with a warm tint of red and a small, beige head. Fantastic and vinous - almost port-like - nose. Medium in body, low in carbonation. Dry, hard roasted malt accents - but not really burned. Again some lovely vinous accents and some dried fruit. Distinct malt astringency. 070208

Cask at the brewpub. Dark brown. Aroma of coffee and licorice. Dryish and very roasty with soft mouthfeel. It has a nice malt character, and this is combined with a wealth of hops. Even though the finish may be soewhat raw or indistinct this one goes down as an excellently crafted English style cask porter.
