A highly approachable IPA with lots of hop flavor and aroma, mild bitterness, and a dry finish. The ideal vehicle for hop delivery has been carefully prepared by our brewers by combining a couple of tasty ass mlats with four different hop varieties. Dosed late in the boil, as well as dry-hopped, this India Pale Ale focuses not on the bitterness in the finish, but instead on the flavor and aroma of the hops.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours hazy golden amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma is floral and pine with some mildly roasted malt. Med body, almost. Flavor is rather floral, then a little resin, then some mildly gritty/bready malt. More dry than not, and finishes bitter. Good drink. Want to try a double version.

Cask @ Beveridge Place Pub, Seattle. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Malty hoppy grapefruit aroma. Sweetish malty hopy flavor with hints of grapefruit. Fruity malty grapefruit hoppy finish.

Pours a slightly hazy copper with off white head. The aroma is a combination of earthy, floral, lemon zest and orange peel. It smells pretty cool but a bit different for an IPA. The taste is an immediate assault from earthiness and lightly roasted malt sweetness. OK, a mild assault. Toward midway bitter floral hops, spice hops and a some pine hops join in and get progressively more bitter into the finish. This is a somewhat different combination of hops than I’m used to for an IPA. They play very nicely together. Just the right amount of overall bitterness, some malts and a couple twists and turns to add interest. Nice job.

Bottled. Hazy dark amber, small head. Grapefruity nose with sulphur and soap. Medium bodied with clean, hard mouthfeel. Metallic and heavily hoppy. The combination of the two lingers on forever. The heavy doses of hops hides some of the shortcomings in malt character.

Bottle: Clear amber with a creamy off-white head. Nose is citrus and floral hops with a caramel sweetness. Flavor comes accross wet and hoppy; floral and citrus with a little maltiness. Drys out a bit in the tail. Not bad.

Bottle pours a hazy orange, amber with a largh creamy off white head. Heavy, blocky sticky lacing. Aroma is fruity and citrusy hops. Flavor is sharply bitter witha woody, slightly sour slant. A bit of a metallic note as well, as the late lingering bitterness comes out. Nice full bodied and moderately carbonated

Orangey-amber colour, slightly darker than the Extra Pale. Aroma of pommelo, red currants and wood with background crystal malt accents. Smooth, insistent, very woody bitterness highlights the palate. There’s only traces of balancing crystal malt to keep it in check. The body is a bit thin. Lingering hop finish.
