Draught @SOPP 2011. Vintage 2005. Poured murky brown with no head. Huge sweet fruity, raisin aroma. Flavor is ultra sweet, raisins and malt, leading to a long warming sweet finish with some alcohol. Way too sweet for me to be really enjoyable.

2005 vintage Draught @ SOPP 2011. Pours reddish orange with a minimal sticky head. Aroma has notes of malts, raisin, alcohol and slightly fruits. Strong malty and sweet taste with notes of raisin and fruits. Long lasting, warming finish. Full bodied, no carbonation. Perhaps aged a bit too long, slightly unbalanced.

(2005 vintage, Draught at Vihreä Haltiatar, Jyväskylä, on 2009-04-03) Amber and clear. Small white head. Sweetness, raisin, malts and hint of berries in aroma. Full bodied and bit dry palte with little carbonation and warmth from alcohol. Malts, sweetness, light bitterness, raisin, bit of fruitiness, light sourness and some berries in taste. Malty aftertastes. Despite the sourness this beer has aged well.

Draught@Black Door, Helsinki. Had it in late June, but rating seems gone from the site... Reddish brown colour with small head, that won’t last for long. Aroma is strongly wineous along with caramel malts and some hoppyness. Not very much alcohol noteable in the aroma. As for the flavour it’s malty, fruity, berryish and slightly wineous. The alcohol gives a warming feeling all through you body when swallowing. A really pleasant Barley wine.

Rerated in May 2008, alc stated as 9+ % at black door. Quite similar to the above, but has smoothened out a lot and now also has some smoked notes in it. Score 8 4 8 4 16 on both occasions.

Draught at Black Door
Mahogany color with red hue, no head. Mature aroma of malt, caramel, a bit cheesy. Full-bodied, strong malt-caramel flavor, sweet, but very well balanced by a strong hopping. The alcohol gives a warming sensation, the palate has a lot of sweet caramel. Let me say, Thomas Hardy’s but more hopped (I had to hit a second glass, I paid the morning after…). Perfectly balanced, top quality Barley Wine.

Draught at Black Door, Helsinki. Clear nut brown, small head. Lactic nose. Sweet and densely malty with full body. Massively malty with complex flavours of breadm syrup, port wine and red cherries complimented with woody lactic acidity. Viscous and heacy in the mouth. A delicious liqueur-like uniques beer. The closing of Stadin Panimo is a tragedy of epic proportions. I still maintain them as one of my all time favourite breweries.

Ruby red color, not much head. Dark fruits, portwine, glue and berries in the nose. Sweetish, wineous and alcoholic ... Sticky and sugary mouthfeel. Complex and balanced, but a bit too sweet and young. This one could develop to masterpiece, please bottle it!
