A traditional premium strong ale that is malty and full. A slight sweetness extends into the finish of this mid brown, balanced beer. Pale ale and crystal malts are used in the mashing process with bitterness coming from Fuggles and Challenger.

Cask at the brewpub. Copper colour. Medicinal nose with bitter orange and caramel. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly malt covers the medicinal notes to some extent. Mid-bitter, slightly chalky finish.

Draught (at the brewpub): Slightly hazy amber coloured; fruity, a bit sweet-malty nose with a tinge of molasses; sweet-bitter flavour; sweetish-malty and - no doubt - fruity finish with a late bitterness. A strongish. well rounded and well balanced bitter.
