Old rating from 20-07-15 - On tap at the brewery- look is hazy light yellow with a white head, aromas are sweet and tangy, tastes of sweet and sour with hints of apple and pear. Feel is light, not quite what I'd expect from a lambic, as stated on the menu. Overall nice enough.

Keg at Metropole. It pours cloudy golden-orange with a thick white head. The nose is sweet, tangy, apple, pear skin, light lactic notes and candied peel. The taste is sweet-sour, tangy, doughy, lactic action, dusty, apple, stewed pear, straw and hay with a short, dryish finish. Light-medium body and moderate foamy carbonation. Tangy apple beer. Interesting for sure, just not nearly as sour or funky as I had hoped for. OK.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy tan. Inch-thick head. Slight barrelly accent. Bit of funk, almost cidery. ROCKETS!! This tastes like Rockets, now that’s a sugary fruity note in a good way. I wasn’t expecting lambic anyway. The body is actually lambicky, if you discard the lack of sour. Very refreshing - like a faro.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy pale golden, small head. Tart green apple aroma. Light bodied with mild fresh green apple acidity. Citric with wheat malt character. Low biterness. Unique, tasty and refreshing. Metropole qualifies as one of my all time favourite brewpubs!
