Gambrinus beer benefits from a strong tradition, since the beginning of beer consumption in Romania is related to this very brand. Starting 1869 and until recently it was produced at the Grivita Plant in Bucharest. The brand’s fame comes equally from the homonymous beer house in the center of Bucharest, a meeting point for the Romanian artists at the beginning of the XXth century.
Product characteristics
Gambrinus is a superior blonde beer of wide consumption, with an alcohol concentration of 4,5% and a primary extract of 10,5˚ P.
History
In 2005 it was succesfully relaunched as a brand of BRAU UNION Romania through an image campaign that consisted in changing the label and the rejuvenating its aspect. The brand’s symbol remained the same: the Gambrinus king brewer. Thus, it was demonstrated that "old" is not the same as "out of date".

BOTTLE 50 CL. Dark golden, white head. Pretty subtle and clean sweet bready malts, with just a bit of stricken matches. Clean pale malty taste with a hint of grass. Prickly carbonation. A nice and clean industrial lager.

PET bottle in Bucharest. Clear pale golden, small head. Dryish and lightly fruity, light bodied with clean mouthfeel. Neutral flavour. Slightly salty finish with low bitterness. Decently drinkable, but that’s about it.
