Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, dark malt, dark fruit - berry, caramelized malt, alcohol, light to moderate yeasty, phenol, fruity yeast, light brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, brown sugar, belgium yeast, caramelized malt, dark malt, caramel, phenol. Nice slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet fruity, raisins, minerals, bark, dark sugar, dark malts, oak, dried fruits, grass, burnt caramel. Taste is sweet mineraly, raisins, dark sugar, grass, minerals, dried fruits, caramel malts, bark, burnt caramel. Medium bitterness, sweet mineraly mouthfeel. Nice.

Shared bottle at home. Pours hazy dark brown with dense beige head. Aroma of chocolate, raisins, plums, some metallic notes. Tastes slightly sweet with balancing bitterness. Smooth mouth feel, full bodied. Some alcoholic warmth. Very nice beer.

500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Tromsø Sentrum. Bubbly fawn-colored head resting over a near black body. Spotty lacing. Sweet jam-like aroma. Similar taste of jam, ripe dried fruits, candy sugar and caramel malts. Prolonged sweet ending. Slow sipper that gets way too sweet in the long run. Okay for sharing in smaller amounts (The annual Yuletide drinking session at Finns place in Tromsø, 18.11.2016).

Fra flaske på DSJT, Cardinal nov-16: brunsvart med skjær av rødt, og med et flott skum som varer. Saftig og rik aroma og -smak med mye maltsødme, dessertsjokolader, mørk kandis, noen mørke bær og nesten nok bitterhet. Cremet munnfølelse. Et snopeøl, velegnet til å dele gavmildt nå i førjulstiden.
