Frydenlund Session IPA is a modern American style lager. The term 'session' harkens back to the days of WWI-era in England when munition workers were allotted short "session" breaks between shifts. Many workers would spend those breaks in the pub. As they knew they had to return to work, the workers preferred lower ABV beers that they could enjoy without getting too drunk before going back to work.

Frydenlund Session IPA is dry hopped with Cascade, Citra, Hallertauer Mandarina Bavaria and Mosaic hops. This beer has a beautiful amber colour. The aroma is hoppy with notes of papaya, mango and citrus. The taste is rich with a hoppy punch.

500 ml can, from REMA 1000, Tau. ABV is 4.5%. Deep golden colour, large white head. Strong aroma of sprucetips and pine needles, some less pleasant hints of decaying fruits. The flavour is too sweet, with notes of old jam and moderate hops. Compared to its biggest competitor, Hansa IPA, this one fails miserably. Won’t buy again.

Can. An unclear dark orange-golden beer with a small off-white head. It’s a rather malty one, lightly fruity and piney with some wort notes. Semi dry on the palate, with a decent carbonation. Full to medium bodied. Malts dominates the flavor too, with a little orange touch and a rather subtle bitterness considering the style. Long malty finish with a zesty bitterness. First sniff was decent, after that I decided this beer will never be found in my fridge again, there’s too many more interesting beers at this price to be found in the stores. 160603

Pours slightly hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, caramel, bread, biscuit and some fruitiness. Taste is medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long caramel, bready, citrus finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Shared can in Værnes with KL and KA 25.05.16. Clear golden. Uneven off-white head and lacing. Quickly dissapearing head. Persistent lacing. Fine aroma of tropical fruits, flowers, wine gum and pale malt. Similar taste, with artificial wine gum bitterness.

Well done Ringnes. A really pleasant, tasty and easy drinkable beer.
Lovely deep golden color with a fine thick off white head. Good lacing. Nice intensity in the aroma. Medium body and a fine carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Citric, pine, caramel and mellow tropic fruity flavor.
