This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a soft hazy burnt orange color with a nice sustaining white foamy rocky head that dissipated in about a minute. Messy foamy lacing runs all over the place.
The aroma picks out sharp bitter orange rind with subtle juicy citrusy pulpy contours over some light resin.
The flavor takes the aroma profile and adds in a light little bit of spicy rye. Rye ends up bleeding into the finish, but not so much the aftertaste.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionable feel about it. Rye doesn’t distract to overly lead into too much spicy harshness. Its character is there, but pretty light.
Overall, really nice variation on Junior iPA, with the rye being as subtle as it is. This one would make a nice offering with its respected food.
