Bottled@Gustav Wasa, Vaasa (and Lumo, Rauma). I’ve tried this one several times as it seemed to develop over time. Deep coppery black colour with a huge foamy beigeish brown head. When fresh, the spices are really ruling over anything else in both the aroma and flavour. As it gets closer (or even past) it’s best by date, it actually smoothens out, making the spices blend together with a rather sweet and nice body. Drink fresh if you enjoy stuff that mainly tastes like spices, if you want something more balanced, cellar it for half a year or so. Score given for the aged one.

Tap at Il Birrificio, Helsinki. Colour is dark brown with small slightly brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Chocolate, spices, christmas spices and roasted malts. Quite spicy light porter.

Bottle at Pub Winston. Dark brown-ruby color, steady beige head. Caramel, ginger, cinnamon and light toastyness. Light to medium-bodied. Pepperkaka spices, caramel and then hoppyness in the aftertaster. Quite hoppy spicey Christmas porter. Ok as such.

A colabrown beer, a head is big bubbled, small and blond. Aroma is strongly spicy, ginger, cinnamon, nothing else behind the spices. Taste has roastiness and strong spicyness, peppers, ginger, cinnamon. Warming ginger. Quite light bodied. I cannot find the idea behind this recipe. Too much of spices.
