Jopen Viva el Rye (7%) is een volmondige IPA met een kruidige smaak van rogge. De hopsoorten Sorachi Ace (Japan) en El Dorado (USA) zorgen voor veel fruitige tonen van kokos en exotisch fruit. De naam Viva el Rye verwijst naar één van onze favoriete granen: rogge én Viva el rey (lang leve de koning in het Spaans).

Hazy straw blond colour with lasting thin head. Aroma and flavour have a mix of sweet tropical fruit and just a hint of coconut. Nice thick texture.

[5/14/17] Draught at Taphouse in Copenhagen. Murky yellow. Spiciness, yeast, plastic, flowers, sweetish, unpleasant bitterness.

330 ml Bottle. Thanks to Maakun for the bottle. Pours with a hazy orange color and a beautyfull large white head. Looks like orange juice. Wow, what a nose: lots of maracuja fruit, vanilla, caramel, shortbread, lemon-bisquit-roll and slightly hops & malts. The taste is quit not as complex as the nose. The taste is rather bitter-fruity like orange-peel, nice hops, some herbs. Nice dry-bitter finish, well balanced. Medium bodied. Good stuff, thanks for this interesting beer!

On tap @ Jopenkerk Haarlem. Hazy orange with a white head. Spicy orange aroma with added hops. Medium bitter with a nice spicy bitter finish. Nice one.
