Jopen Viva el Rye (7%) is een volmondige IPA met een kruidige smaak van rogge. De hopsoorten Sorachi Ace (Japan) en El Dorado (USA) zorgen voor veel fruitige tonen van kokos en exotisch fruit. De naam Viva el Rye verwijst naar één van onze favoriete granen: rogge én Viva el rey (lang leve de koning in het Spaans).

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is spicy creamy rye, thick grain, fruity hops, orange, hay, with light floral notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a bitter finish. Body is medium. Good Rye IPA, tons of creamy rye complemented by soft fruity hops.

Tap at Noord-Hollands bierfestival ’17, Alkmaar: Hazy orange colored brew with an dry bitter taste, hints of caramel, oranges, spices and that wonderful rye.

Tap @ Jopenkerk Haarlem. Orange color, cloudy. Orange peel and orange in the aroma. Yeasty but well hopped flavor. Orange. Some acidic notes. Orange peels. Looks ugly but has bite. 7 2 7 2 14 Bottle @ home. Orange blonde, cloudy. Orange and tea leaves in the aroma. Initial rye, but the herbal orange flavor dominates. Sharp herbal notes. Tea leaves. Citrus. Very tasty.

Draft @ Skaal, Copenhagen. Pours a pale orange color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty grassy hoppy aroma. Fruity malty grassy citrus hoppy spicy flavor. Has a fruity malty grassy citrus hoppy spicy finish.

Tap@Skaal, Copenhagen - golden amber coloured pour with white head. Citrus fruity hoppy and malty, satsuma, lemon, straw, caramel, some notes of wood, some herbal and floral nuances, grassy spicy hoppy bitter finish.

330ml bottle, from trade with MonsterMagnet. Many thanks Monster! Pours a hazy golden amber, off-white head. Aroma is fruity marmalade, rye. Taste is smooth, rye, malty with some fruity marmalade and a very welcome sorachi coconut presence. Moderately sweet, lightly spicy. Yeah, decent.
