Nose peppery, hay malts, pith. Taste leads with strong pithy bitterness over creamy hay malts, some yeasty off notes. Not loving it.

75cl bottle filled the night before from the tap of BeerOut, Forlì, Italy. Pours hazy opaque gold, with limited white foam, fine. Aroma is orange peel, a little toffee. Body and carbonation are average. Taste is medium bitter and with moderate acidity. Final is fairly long and moderately acidic.

Best before end 2024; 375ml bottle with wine cork and cage; purchased at La Cave à Bières d’Etre Gourmet
APPEARANCE: strong champagne like pop at the opening, a lot of smoke came out of the bottle neck; golden, blond color with chill haze; big frothy head, mousse like, lasting with decent lacing; visible rising carbonation; murky, peach puree like color with the sediment
AROMA: first association -amped Saison Dupont; loads of fruity esters, pear, ripe apples, candied orange, hints of grapes and cloves; sweet bread, no typical bread dough, funk or yeastiness - feels very clean; fairly low hop profile on the nose for saison, hints of grass, dusty hops
TASTE: lively, fluffy carbonation but not acidic sharp, medium light to medium body, crisp mouthfeel with dry aftertaste; surprisingly sweet onset of fruity esters and bread, sweet grapes, dried apples, subtle pear; medium bitter bite of herbs and hints of hay, subtle earthy and resinous notes in the background, savory/mineral notes; hints of washing powder
OVERALL: I was expecting a lot more from involved breweries, technically very correct and clean, mainstream like saison; I prefer Blaugies d’Epeautre over this (more funky with pleasant refreshing tartness)

Bottle from BIAB. Mostly clear straw with a huge lasting head. Citrusy sour nose, crisp and clean. Super high carb with exploding fine bubbles. Nice moderate complexity for a farmhouse, very funky barnyard flavors, acidity and bitterness make it more on the dry side. I likey! The carb/mouthfeel is so great I want to keep sipping before it loses power. 👍

Bottle from Hoptimism. Aroma has up front sherbert, citrus and spice over an underlying earthiness. Medium gold. Fizzy frothy translucent white head. Crisp light-medium bitterness with citrus sourness. Underlying nuttiness flows through into the finish. Light bodied. Thin. Fizzy carbonation. Relatively abrupt dry finish. Light but satisfying. More suited for a summer's day than December, perhaps.

375 ml corked and crowned bottle. Bright pale gold color. Large bubbly white head settles to a small bubbly white cap. Zesty lemony malt aroma. Dryish bitter citrus flavor upfront. An abundance of dank citrus in middle. Orange, lemon and grapefruit. Some yeastiness as well. Dry bitter hoppy finish hints at crushed black pepper.

Bottle. Pours hazy pale straw with rocky white head. Clear aroma of hops and citrus, with notes of yeast and mild floral touches. Bitter flavour of Amarillo hop, with citric notes and touches of yeast and flowers. Rough, estery aftertaste with funky notes. Decent. Quite rustic and, well, idyllic, just like the label.
