Bottle 500ml. @ [ The pre Fastelavn Smagning - Carnival Tasting, Ulfborg ]. [ As Störtebeker Whisky-Biers ].[ Courtesy of æHD’er ]. Clear medium amber yellow color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, smoke, light alcohol. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, wood, smoke, a weak touch of metal. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20140228]

bottle from the brewery’s online shop. Amber colour with a creamy and persistent white head. Smoky nose. Full-bodied, slightly sweet malty base with a lot of smoke. Shy hoppy touch. The smoke is predominant in a pleasant way.

Orange in the glass with a white head. The nose is smokey-interesting with sourish hints. The beer itself starts quite sweet and highly drinkable. Smooth whiskey-malt aroma together with a nearly sticky sweetness. Bit the 9% are not present! Dangerously highly drinkable. Not too sweet, hints of yellow fruit (pear, unripe banana). Very smooth. The aftertaste is sweet (probably a bit too much), hints of smokey whiskey-malt, nearly no bitterness, a bit like a not too sweet honey-bonbon. Interesting! 12/12/11/11

Thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass zippy, small head. Malty-alcoholic aroma. Starts strong, quite alcoholic, not too much, warming. Some woody notes. Finish well balanced, malty, still warming. Nice!

0,5 l botttle with a typical Störtebeker label art. An unclear orange in the glass, medium until small head. Burned charcoal with citrus on the nose. I think about it if I should drink the beer at all. Starts chemical, medicine. Once you get used to it, you can taste caramell, malt and an alcoholic sweetness. And yes, whisky! Maybe expensive to produce but as well not easy to drink. Not my cup of tea.

Bottle, 9.0%. Smoked malt aroma. Cloudy copper colour. Small white head. The flavour is sweet, smokey, and peaty. Unfortunately, I never learned to love peat and whiskey malt in a beer. I want to like it. Perhaps some day.
