12 ounce bottle. Translucent mahogany brown color. Small, creamy beige head. Sweet, toasted malt aroma has notes of buttery, maple syrup and cinnamon. Bittersweet malty notes upfront. Maple and cinnamon flavors jump out. Rich and boozy. Hints of oak and bourbon on backend. Interesting.

Pours garnet dinged deep mahogany into a tulip. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving spidery pancake lacing. Sweet maple and vanilla aromas. Thick with sweet maple syrup, vanilla, egg, toasted bread upfront turning to earthy dark molasses in the lasting finish.... yep, this is french toast alright.

I think Founders puts out some fine beers. Let us see how it goes with French Toast Bastard. I have a 12 oz bottle ready to go inside of a Belgian glass, just the way it is this evening. I see a dark, rich, dark brown liquid with not much of a head to mention. The nose is spices, syrup and grain. And the drink does really taste like French toast with bread, maple syrup, grain, alcohol and a lot of sugar. Not really my thing, a lot of sweetness and too removed from a basic beerness.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very deep red with a light tan head. Aroma is maple cinnamon and vanilla; it actually does remind me a lot of French toast. Cinnamon maple flavor, vanilla, and bringing in some of the base beer with some of the peaty malts and oak. Very sweet, of course. The added flavors work well, and I enjoy it a lot.

Bottle: Pours a deep amber color with a reddish hue. Rich aroma of cinnamon french toast.. very much on point. Sweet vanilla and maple notes up front with a light cinnamon kick before finishing with a softer version of the bastard. The flavors are working really together.

Maple, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel malt, and fresh hay aroma. Dark chestnut brown with large tan head. Very sweet (but not cloying) maple, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel malt, and moderately bitter hay and alcohol flavor. Good body. Boozy but nice.

Happy Thanksgiving! Played some hockey this morning, now catching up on the World Cup.🇨🇭 1-0 🇨🇲 in the early game. Now onto 🇺🇾 vs 🇰🇷. No spoilers please!
Heavy on the maple and vanilla, hint of cinnamon. Sweet, slight barrel. It’s decent.

12oz bottle pours with a clear dark mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up . . . . that aroma, wow, I get inviting maple that's steep in toastiness followed by a bit of molasses and maple syrup. Yes. The taste delivers similar notes as smooth sweet malts quickly pick up modestly spicy maple heading into a dash of lightly roasted malts. Nice. To midway faint vanilla and bourbon are noticed giving this a little more depth and smooth interest. Really fun sipper.

2022 bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a chestnut brown with a half finger of beige head that dissipates. Big bourbon focused nose with maple syrup, cinnamon and vanilla throughout. Drying finish with more cinnamon and vanilla, but just too boozy compared to the 2019 release.

The aromas are maple, cinnamon, vanilla and dark malt up front with some bourbon in the back. Flavors are a lot like nose with maple and vanilla dominating, sweet with some carbonation to balance and little bitter. Very slightest touch of metallic in the finish. Good beer.
