Nice maple syrup spin on Backwoods Bastard. Like the original it has a classic Scotch ale taste with barrel aged character.

I bought the 4 pack for $10 in October 2022. I'm not a sweet alcohol drinker on anything but liked the price and the alcohol content. So I was pleasantly happy after about the 4th sip and must admit after 1 bottle I'm feeling pretty buzzed. It grew on me , being strong moreso than sweet, which it is but with a tolerable swallow. I'm a fan and will take full advantage of the price and alcohol content. Bit of a headache but surely the 2nd bottle will level me out. I'm 66 and still like my 16 year old self about the buzz .I mean remember Boones Farm? Hated it but kept drinking it for the buzz. Yeah.. I know.

Big french toast aroma on the nose here. Syrup and coffee, burnt toast. Hazy maroon pour with decent head. Light sweet finish with some lingering leather. Ok as a novelty beer, not something I would drink again though. Tap at Fire Works.
