Black Butte³ is described as a delicious equation of Deschutes Imperial Black Butte Porter aged in Black Butte Porter Whiskey casks from Bendistillery. The result is a tantalizing libation of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, oak that is set upon a slightly smoky, roasted finish. Black Butte³ is 90% oak aged so be prepared for an aggressive beer that should age gracefully. Black Butte3 will be for sale at $25 for a waxed dipped 22-ounce bottle.

Bottle - Dark sweet chocolate and some molasses. Jet dark brown with a decent beige head. Sweet chocolate and a bit of dark raisin, date, sweetness and a touch of bourbon. Very well balanced and really nice.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown / near-back with a tiny beige head. Aroma is huge, with notes of whiskey barrels, dark dried fruits, rich caramel and some light woody notes. Flavour is along the same lines, with cohesive notes of caramel, dark dried fruits, and whiskey. Surprisingly no heat from the high ABV. Complex and wonderfully harmonious. Excellent.

22oz bottle thanks to Toby. Pours out dark brown topped with a tan head. Nose is roast malts chocolate barrel vanilla pit fruit lots of rich malts. Taste is more of the great rich malts lots of barrel notes coffee some vanilla. Wow this is amazing thick rich very complex.

Bomber from the brewery. 25$, very expensive. This is quite different than the Black Butte anniversary beers, though it certainly shares many aspects. This in essence is a big whiskey driven porter with intense hot and really great barrel elements. Pours a very dark brown color with a medium brown head. A huge vanilla, bourbon and chocolate nose. Heat is clear. The flavor initially is almost overwhelming big hot whiskey, vanilla, dark fruit, tobacco. Big heat. Dry in many senses compared to say Dark Lord or bigger sugary stouts. It mellows. The whiskey is unknown to me but I get rye like flavors more than just sweeter bourbon vanilla notes. Just a great beer. Excellent body. World class.
