500ml green bottle from a kiosk in Zaporizhzhya. Straw coloured body. Tiny, white bubbling head. Grassy aroma. Mild and smooth taste of fruits and sweet corn. Rounded mouthfeel. Average, but refreshing on a warm day in Ukraine (11.07.2009).

Bottle, Village Shop, Chohor, Nr Chernivtsi, Ukraine. I’m definitely of the opinion that the Lvivska brewery make the best beers in Ukraine. As 4 percent lagers go, this really isn’t that bad. Accompanied by some pork kebabs cooked on an open fire in the Ukrainain sunshine it was just fine.

Bottle, 4.5%. Grassy hop aroma. Pale yellow colour. Stable white head. Grainy flavour, a little vinous, but quite boring. 4 3 4 3 6

Draught at the brewery museum. Baking yeast aroma, hint of white wine. Almost clear pale yellow colour. Small white head. The flavour is finely hoppy, subtle grassiness. OK refreshing. 5 3 5 3 10

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a dense white head. Dry hoppy and mild cornish aroma with a mild spice note. Sweet malty flavoured, light caramel malty note. Mild bitterness into the finish. Smooth and dry.

A light lager with little alcohol. Comes in a nice big bottle though so that is pretty cool. Ultimately though, there is no reason to drink this beer over its more full bodied cousin Lviske Lager. The beer is also a little too drp for my taste. But it is drinkable.

Süffiger, herber Antrunk, dann nur noch hintergründige Aromen. Im Mittelteil ist dies ein malzig und bitteres Aroma, der Nachgeschmack ist quasi nicht vorhanden. Das Aroma ist definitiv zu flach. Test vom 1.10.2006, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,8,10,4,9,9 - 8,25

Biggish white head; yellow body with ongoing carbonation. Dense sweetish grainy grassy aroma. Dense sweetish chalky taste with some bitterness. No real aftertaste, though chalk and bitterness linger. Nothing wrong with this, but it’s not terribly interesting, either. (0.5l bottle.)

Pale gold; creamy - as whipped cream - collapsing head. Vanilla, cream/milky, chalk, a bit of carboard for aromas. Typical spring water quality, both in taste as in MF. It’s far from unpleasant - but the problem is there’s nothing else to be had. Maybe a bit of leafy flavour, when searching hard? Way too watery. Nice spring water - but I thought this was beer? Or was it different in 1715, then?

Bottled. Clear pale yellow, no head. Papery vegetable aroma. Sweet and medium bodied, no bitterness. A pretty useless boring industrial lager, BBH style.
