Keg at Mother Kelly’s - Bethnal Green, London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, beige head. Lots of dark fruits in the nose, berries, raisins, touches of coffee. Medium sweet flavour with restrained roast character, faint papery dryness, aged berries, more raisins, burnt toffee, soft earthy bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with light boozy warmth, mellow dry cocoa, raisins, faint fig, earth, burnt toast. Decent overall, although the character seems a little thin.

At a tasting, thanks, small stable mocha colored creamy head, aroma of vanila, dark bread and sweet spices, toasty hints in the back, quite sweet soy flavor with mud and charred notes and dark dried fruits in the back. Fair, not too exciting.

4 finger dense creamy head. Pitch black with a slight amber on the edges. Very solid roasted coffee bean and oak present. Quite a lot of barley in this one. Actually, a lot going on here. Oh but the finish is rough. High bitterness, chalky and mulch-like. Up front, lots of flavor and wood, chocolate and espresso beans. Middle is nice as some dad fruits appear. Finish sort of is too rough
