Draught @ St. Urho’s portteripäivät. Black color, thin brown head. Vanilla, roasted malt and porridge in aroma. Flavor has oatmeal, roastedness, vanilla. Dry finish with licorice. Burnt malt later on . Quite tasty though.

Aroma is odd with some dark chocolate, cocoa, some vanilla and bitter floral tones. Flavour has cocoa, dark chocolate, some herbal tones, hints of coffee and licorice. Hops and herbs in the finish. Slightly too burnt.

Pours pitch black with a smooth white head. Aroma of roasted malts, sweet syrup, chocolate, hints of ash and cocoa. Taste is roasty, hoppy, ripe fruity, bitter with notes of coffee, cocoa and ash. Finish is smooth, hoppy and roasty with some bitterness and chocolate notes. Okay, quite hoppy.

Tap at St Urho, Helsinki. Colour is black with slightly brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Coffee, chocolate and roasted malts.

(Keg at St. Urho’s Pub Portteri- ja Stout-päivät, 20140212) The beer poured black. Its head was small and lightly brown. Aroma had coffee, liquorice and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, burnt malts, liquorice, coffee and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, liquorice and bitterness. A tasty and balanced brew despite the strong burntness.

Schokoladiger, weich malziger und süßer Antrunk. Kakaonoten, mild herb, intensiver malzig werdend. Gutes Bier, dem man den Alkoholgehalt zu keiner Zeit anmerkt. 10/11/9/11//11
