Complex ruby red beer with a powerful body. You will find notes of dark dried fruits and slightly toasted bread. followed by a rather long and soothing aftertaste, this winner has got it all!

Hazy brown, thin, foamy, tan head. Aroma of dried banana, candied plum, red apple, pear, caramel, nougat, liqueur. Taste has sweet plum, banana & pear in a thick caramelly malt body with biscuity & herbal accents. Herbal hoppy finish, a tad spicy, toasty even, lingering dried fruit and even some bittering orange peel, coated in warming liqueur-like alcohol (triple sec). Medium body, syrupy texture, soft carbonation. Boozy and syrupy-fruity but satisfying to sip

Bottle from Albert Heijn, sweet, bitter, citrussy, notes of marzipan. Not very well blend together. Not my favourite quad.

33cl Fles van een lokale supermarkt. Donkerbruine kleur, beige kraag. Rozijntjes, karamel, hint van gebrande mout, donker fruit, medium zoet, fruitig, bittere finish. Volle body, licht alcoholisch. Prima Quad, wel vrij generiek van smaak. Daardoor niet minder lekker overigens.

Medium cream-coloured head over deep dark redbrown beer, appearing almost black in the glass. Sweet nose, bananaester, even a bit 1,4 guaiacol. Smells like a Weizenbock. More of the same in the mouth, if with a bit ashy-smokey streak. Repeat performance: this is way more Weizenbock than Quadrupel - if probably without wheat, I suppose. The finish has some coffee to add to the phenols. Well bodied, if not overwhelming for a 10% beer. Medium to good carbonation. OK beer, definitely, but nothing out of the ordinary. Thanks to Stef!

Donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht bitterzoet met iets van bramen, wat drop en een beetje karamel. Best een goed bier.
