A true seasonal beer, as refreshing as it should be! Taste it in the summer, sitting at a terrace table. Originally, season beer was a beer brewed before the summer and intended for summer-season farmhands. It had low alcohol content and a marked bitterness that made it really refreshing.
We wanted to offer a truly seasonal Season with production limited in time. As Laurent Agache’s parents had created a cottage-type aperitif based on fresh elder tree flowers, greatly appreciated for family festivities, we have tried to use that flower for producing our Season. The elder flower, combined with the Sterling hop, was wonderful right from the first tests: the bitterness of the hops underlined by the flower brought a new and really nice freshness. The following year, shortly after the flowering of the elder tree, our Saison Cazeau was launched on the market.

A hazed blonde saison with a thick lacing white head. In aroma, a light grassy sweet malt with smooth chalky notes. In mouth, a nice crisp lightly sweet malt, with nice lingering herbal Belgian hops, powdery and nice. Bieropholie import, tasted Sept. 5 2011.

Hazy yellow to light orange colour with a medium sized head. Smells hoppy and flowers. Tastes bitter, hoppy. Very nice flavour! Quite surprising this one. Good bitter aftertaste, great carbo, great body.

Draught at Moeder Lambic, Fontainas
Hazy deep blond color; creamy head. The aroma is a bit smelly, cheesy, more than elderflower. Smooth mouthfeel, light malt flavor, with some vegetables, herbs; low bitterness. Very strange.

Bottle @ DutchDrebus, thanks for sharing. Hazy light yellow color, small white head. Smell hops, bitter and very fruity though not dominant. Taste bitter, fresh, fruity and blossom; very nice! Average carbonation, medium body. Very nice beer!

Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Rocky iceberg head on a bright gold beer. Citric, lactic, sourish nose, with yogurt, lemon, spice. Dry, dusty flavor of old lemons. Bitter, spur, and dry. Why? Bretty. Interesting but somehow strange.

From notes. Had a sort of off flavor that seemed rubbery. This hurt the beer quite a bit, and I think it was from the elderflowers not quite working with the hops well. A bit too yeasty in the finish. Kind of a musty grain flavor but not bad, really. Some funk.

Bottle. Light amber beer with a huge cream colored head. Malt and toast aroma with earth and light yeast. Grain and malt flavor with toast, citrus, spice, and yeast. Medium bodied. Spice and grain lingers with malt and toast.

Very funky aroma in a rather bad way. Sweaty gym socks and lemons. Hazy yellow, lots of carbonation, thick head, good lacing. Silky mouthfeel, refereshing, easily quaffable. Whole lemon flavor, lemongrass finish.

Capped 750 shared by Marcus. Pours hazy gold with a large white head. Huge floral/herb aroma. Med body. Flavor is pretty earthy with a little yeast and a lot of floral/herb. Finishes hoppy/earthy bitter.
