La Tournay Triple séduit par sa puissance…
Les bières triples contiennent traditionnellement plus de malt, et ont donc une haute teneur en alcool. Mais l’idée à l’origine de la naissance de la Tournay Triple n’était pas de produire une bière forte mais bien une bière très houblonnée.
Lors de la création de toutes nos bières, nous avons à cœur de conserver un équilibre entre les goûts et de faire en sorte que chaque ingrédient puisse s’exprimer sans écraser les autres. Pour répondre à l’amertume des houblons, nous devions donc brasser une bière bien charpentée, d’où le choix d’un taux d’alcool élevé (plus de 9% vol.).
Si nous avions rapidement succombé aux arômes très particuliers du houblon néo-zélandais Nelson Sauvin, de très nombreux essais furent nécessaires pour trouver le bon mariage avec d’autres houblons, dont le Cascade, qui signe toutes nos bières à l’exception de la Saison, et le Fuggles anglais.
La mise au point de notre Triple fût donc un travail de longue haleine mais ça en valait la peine !

Many thanks for this Tripel to Eric De Geyter. 330ml bottle. Jedno z najwiekszych rozczarowan jesli chodzi o belgijskie piwa. Zaczne od plusow, a jest ich niewiele, Wyglad. Jest owszem ladny spora piana, trwala, bojna i utrzymuje sie niemal do konca degustacji, Zapach likierowy, mocny alkohol, zapach cydru jablkowego z dodatkiem spirytusu spozywczego. W smaku jest juz fatalnie by nie powiedziec katastrofalnie. Alkohol, i caly czas alkohol, mocno wyczuwalny drazniaco denerwujacy, przykrywa wszystko. Slodko ciasta i torty wyrobione z Amaretto i migdalami, palaco rozgrzewajaco. Meczace i ciezkie.

Geel bier met schuim. Smaak is warm en krachtig met iets van kaneel, ananas en banaan. Erg kruidige en complexe triple.

On tap @Luppolo Station (Rome). Dorata mediamente torbida, schiuma abbondante e persistente. Al naso note di frutta candita, scorza d'arancia, miele di acacia, spezie, bubblegum. In bocca è dolce all'attacco, lunga, con finale amaro di miele di castagno, l'alcol scalda la gola piacevolmente. Corpo pieno, carbonazione media. Una gran tripel.

Bottle from Bierkonig. Honey gold with a medium head. Aroma of peppered yeast. Flavour is spiced yeast, tangy and a little boozy, spicy finish.

Fles gedeelt met LiekevdV. Het is oranje geel bier met een volle witte schuimkraag. Het heeft een wat moutige licht hoppige geur. De smaak is vol, hoppig en kruidig met een wat bittere nasmaak.

Unclear, golden colored, medium- white soapy head, not that lasting. Aroma is of malt, some caramel, honey, spicy yeast, quite yeasty, bit bready, some frutiy notes, alcohol, bit fruity-grape hops. Taste is medium to very sweet malt and caramel, honey, some fruity notes, spicy Belgian yeast, again very yeasty, bit toast, medium herbal bitterness, dryish finish, some alcohol. Medium bodied, average carbonation. Sweetish and yeasty, hops are quite overpowered... (bottle)

13th Sep 2017: 330ml bottle at The Crown Inn, Oakengates. Misty golden body, wispy white head. Half Belgian Triple, half a sweet IPA. Malty nose with a hoppy and spicey undertone, taste followed the same lines, semi-sweet leading to a sweeter center. Hops also featured in the flavour, giving a mini-balance to a very drinkable 9% ABV brew.

Hazy orange-amber color, small white head. Overriped fruits (esteries), grassy hops and alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied. Overriped peach and kiwi in the flavour. Nelson Sauvin is there but it is in trouble with Belgian yeast. Sweetish finish with alcohol kick. Restless. Maybe not in the best condition anymore.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, copper-ish, amber colour with huge, fluffy, slowly osteoporosing, white head. Sweet-ish, yeasty fruity and slightly spicy aroma, bready and biscuity malty basis, hints of apricot, orange zest, a hoppy touch of pine and white grapes. Taste is slightly sweet, bready malty, biscuity, hints of speculoos, piney and fruity hoppy admixture adds some orange zest, white grapes, yeasty fruity overtones a further fruity touch of apricot. Smooth and soft, minimally sticky palate. Carefully modernized Triple, hoppy and rather clean, still a tad tacky.
