OUR STRAIGHT-UP STRAIN: THE ‘BLUE DREAM’ IPA
Trailblazers don’t torch a new passageway and then stop; they keep finding new ways in and new ways back out. That’s exactly what we did with our metamodern IPA conceived of hand-selected hops from down under. Malt barley and red wheat combine to create a clean malt backbone with a foolproof flavor and mouthfeel to support America’s sneak peek at Enigma, Vic Secret, Ella and Galaxy hops. The hops strum juicy and sweet aromas with headline notes of passion fruit, raspberries, pineapple and citrus. This intense, straight-up strain is Oskar Blues IPA (6.43% ABV).
Smash a Blue Ferrigno… and it’ll smash back.

11.10.2016, 12 oz can shared with friends @ local tasting:
Nice slightly bubbly-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly concentrated sweet grassy, leafs, citrus peel, hops, lawn, moss, light malts, minerals. Taste is dry grassy, weeds, minerals, grass, bark, paper, moss, sawdust, harsh hops, cardboard. Medium to longlasting bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mouthfeel. Fair enough, probably way past it’s prime.

From a 355ml can on 6/10/2016. Pours a lightish golden with a biggish head. Has a pleasant light tropical fruit nose. Taste wise, there’s some sweet biscuity malt, and lots of tropical and stone fruit (passionfruit, apricot, peach). The hope are pretty firm and a bit dry and resiny.Medium bodied with average carbonation. A more than solid IPA but not special like their Deviant Dale’s.

Dang it. Didn't think to check canned on date. Nearly a year old! Odd taste of smoked cheese. Unfair to rate as not Oskar Blues' fault.

Big offwhite head. Clear deep yellow body with light carbonation. Resiny pineapple aroma with floral notes. Dry-sweet resiny pineapple taste with mango notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish mouthfeel. Dryish resiny mango aftertaste with mealy notes. Nice, drinkable. Could perhaps have more malt body. (0.355l can, from wine monopoly, Storo.)

Can. Pours a light orange with a one finger head that dies to a film as I climb the stairs out of the man cave. Aromas are crisp with lemon, a touch of orange blossom, and the slightest hint of resin. Flavor is a little more juicy... almost oranges and weak mango with a bit of a bristly finish that is almost spruce. Very nice and clean for a simple IPA.
