»The Original« Naturally cloudy and full-bodied – Genuine strong beer enjoyment. When Duke Erich handed Martin Luther a mug of Einbecker Beer at the Worms Reichstag in the year 1521 Martin Luther called out “the best drink known to man is called Ainpöckisch Beer.” His love to Katharina von Bora and to Ainpöckisch Beer was also shown at his wedding in Wittenberg when the council of the town of Wittenberg presented him a barrel of Einbecker as a gift. Already after his disputation in Leipzig in the year 1519 the council of the town of Wittenberg did welcome him by a jar of Einbecker Beer.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly bready malty aroma with grainy spots and herbal and slightly grassy hops in the background. Moderately sweet and delicately bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly sugary, bready malt character with subtle fruity notes of grapes and a moderately herbal and slightly grassy hoppy background; sweet and cautious bitter finish with a touch of booze shining through. Okay. 22.VI.18

Bottle: Hazy, deep golden, slowly collapsing loose white head; moderate sweetish-bitter grainy to pale-malty nose with a quite solid herbal-hoppy backbone; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, almost full bodied; peppery-hoppy traces in the relatively dry malty-bitter finish, traces of honey included. Good goody...

Refrigerated 0.5 L aluminum can poured into a glass. Hazy golden with medium white head. Aroma is light fruit, medium body, medium carbonation, and pretty good small-bubble lacing. Taste is light fruit grain, some floral hops, and hints of alcohol. Like a really nice malt liquor.

500 ml can.Cloudy gold color with a small white head and very good retention. Decent Lacing. Flavor is a mix of bready malt and light bitterness. The 6.7 ABV is noticeable in the finish making it taste more like a strong ale to me. Okay.

Half liter can from Bottles N' Bins in Monterey, CA. Pours translucent gold with a frothy white head. Aroma is hoppy, arguably a grassy type of Noble hop. Med bod. Flavor is somewhat sweet breadiness with not quite enough hop (Noble?) to stomp it down. Overall tho, the flavor is pleasing enough.

Sehr empfehlenswert!

Bottle from Das Alpenhaus. Deep golden body, mildly hazy, small ring if head. Beautiful sweet malt/ grainy aroma wafts up upon opening. Taste and mouthfeel go hand in hand, slick and slippery, sweet and grainy. A nice classic Heller Bock from Einbecker.

For being an unfiltered beer this is quite clear. Aroma has some pungent bitterness to it. Flavor’s a little more malty and smooth. Ok beer.
