Huvila Arctic Circle Ale is a chestnut coloured ale with a malty/fruity odour. It tastes of dark fruits and caramel malts and finishes off with a nice bitter hop tail. It is brewed with both juniper twigs and a large dose of Finnish attitude. It is available on tap an in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland.

Bottle: Poured a clear brown color ale with a medium size off-white head with OK retention. Aroma of roasted malt is mostly dominant with some vague spice notes. Taste is dominated by roasted malt notes with light dry caramel and some distant spices notes. Body is light with medium carbonation. I thought this was short on character and not something I would seek again.

Pours a hazy copper colour with amber highlights. The head is frothy, bubbly, warm-beige, lasts long and gives out creamy-bubbly lacing. Big aromas of dates, caramel, raisins, nuts, hits of smoke and wood. The burnt malt shows up in the taste all the way. Spices and some nice bitterness, creating a good dryness in the finish. Seems like Juniper lingering with coffee notes. Quite a pleasant brew to try. Like a mild smokey stout with light spices.

Bottle - Dark malt, dark fruit and a touch of spice. Hazy copper brown with a light brown head. Spicy brown sugar and raisin, with a nice bitterness to cut the sweetness. Light herbal notes but very well done and enjoyable.

Bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy dark amber pour with a small tan head that fades quickly. Nose is caramel and raisins with a bit of vanilla and some woodiness. Light sweet toffee gives way to a medium bitterness with a light tartness underneath. Wood is even more apparent in the taste and adds some interesting complexity. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation.

I ended up opting for a snifter due to said ingredients that were in this, let’s see if they actually show up.
The appearance was a dark chestnut brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Somewhat foamy lacing strung it’s way around the glass.
The smell had a coca cola aroma over top of some oaky sprucy vanilla.
The taste was mainly sweet through the spruce coca cola flavoring and it becomes fairly sticky on my taste buds.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with more of a sipping sort of quality about it. It runs sticky sweet over my tongue.
Overall, not a bad beer just seemed different to me. Would I have it again - for the price probably not - $15 for this bottle was a bit too much.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with an airy head. Aroma is roasted malts and grain, with kandi, juniper and anise. Oily body with soft carbonation. Flavour is sourish malts with juniper, anise, burned wood and camphor, as well as woody notes of old tree roots. Disappointing.

Bottle from Magasin, DK. Pours dark cloudy brown with an uneven beige head that quickly disappears. Aroma is caramel, chocolate, raisin, ripe fruits. Very sweet, low bitterness, with a long-lasting malty finish of strawberry syrup. After a minute or so all the bitterness is gone and all that remains is strawberry syrup. Interesting.
