Creative minds are everywhere at Wicked Weed. This beer is the result of our first employee beer idea contest. Alanna and Holly came up with this idea and helped brew the beer. Brewed to embody every aspect of French Toast, we used maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla and real French Toast to create a beer suitable for the breakfast or dinner table.

Dark pour with some white foam. Nose has some christmas, cinnamon and cookies. Maple syrup on top of pancakes. Taste is winter warmer style, maple there also pancackes. Light bitterness. Sweet and spicy. Lots of pancakes and maple syrup. Not bad but feels too thin and somewhat lacking deeper character.

Bottle into a taster showing pitch black with sparse latte colored foam. The nose shows pronounced sweet maple forwardness. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Malty and maple syrup light sweetness throughout with a light tea astringency. Too light, not enough maple syrup, not enough everything.

Bottle shared by Brad, thanks! Pours a hazy dark brown with a chocolate brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has cinnamon and dark grains with vanilla and a hint of roasted malts. Flavor is full of cinnamon and vanilla with dark grains and a bit of maple in the finish.

$7.49 pint+ bottle, Rio Hill Wine. My bottle says 8.8% abv. Pours very dark brown with a small soft tan head. Aroma is maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon. Flavor is sweet maple syrup, vanilla extract, light cinnamon that lingers. Has some good flavors, but way too sweet, and the vanilla extract flavor a little too intense.

Bottle from Craft Brewed. Pours a deep brown to black with a full finger and half of beige foam that sits nicely and lingers. Lots of maple, vanilla and cacao nib on the nose. Good carbonation, more toasted cacao nib. Vanilla on the finish with lingering maple. Great balance and all the flavors meld together nicely. --- Beer merged from original tick of French Toast Stout on 24 Jan 2018 at 00:59 - Score: 8. Bottle from Modern Liquor in D.C. Cute breakfast label. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is like French toast with maple syrup. Didn’t pick up the cinnamon. Nearly full bodied. Flavor is hm? And then immediately it’s French toast with cinnamon and maple syrup. The smooth dark malt is nearly hidden. ’Tis an amazing and delicious trick. Shouldn’t miss this.
