Weisse City is a tart, refreshing wheat ale. A kettle sour Berliner Weisse brewed with raspberry purée to recreate the traditional ‘mit syrup’ serving. Bready wheat notes provide a soft background and delicate mouthfeel, while the fruit and acidic flavours contrast to create a very refreshing, but undeniably uniquely flavoured brew.

330ml can. Cloudy, pink-ish, golden colour with average to huge, firm, frothy, white head which diminishes under crackling. Mellow, fruity and minimally tangy, lactic aroma, pulpy and fruit acidic notes of raspberry, a touch of sauerkraut. Taste is tart, lactic and slightly fruity, minimally citric and fruit acidic, hints of sauerkraut, some raspberry, a touch of lemon. Minimally oily, watery texture, dry and slightly astringent palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Clean and focussed, refreshing - very nice.

Spritzig säuerlicher Beginn mit angenehmen, intensiven und natürlichen Himbeernoten. Fruchtiger, mild trockener Mittelteil, rund, sehr süffig. Gut. 10/10/11/11/11/11

Bottle shared @ CBF Düsseldorf. Fruity raspberry nose. The beer starts sour fresh and fruity. Lots of mild sourness, fruity and fresh. Sour creamy, nice sour mild, refreshing raspberries in the aftertaste. Fantastic.

Draught at Alfie Byrnes. Clear deep pink, looks like kir. Aroma is raspberry syrup. Flavour is crisp fresh raspberries, tart Weiss England kicks in at the back. Very good, much better than the syrups you get in Germany with a weisse.
