Daniel Thiriez and the leaders of the collective together imagined a light, saison type beer, quite light (5.5 °) and lightly flavored with an unexpected ingredient: fresh hay (foins in french), picked from the meadows of chef Florent Ladeyn. Hence its name: Saison des Foins. It is brewed with two local hops, Golding and Strisselspalt, from Coophounord at Boeschèpe.

Slightly unclear medium golden colour, good frothy white head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma saison yeast, hay; retronasal medicinal impression. Smooth taste, medium sweet and light bitter, malty, buttery, hay, spicy notes. Short sweetbitter aftertaste, medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, much more a blonde than a Saison, bought in 2016 but still fresh after all this years, good one.
