a: very dark brown coloured body | oily, rich brown head
a: chocolate | canella | caramelised sugars
f: woodsie | bourbon | vanilla finish
t: warming | rounded but very roasty malts | bitter cacao end
o: robust | complex earthy profile | enjoyable but strong...still...I thought it would temper more after five + years, but it's still strong (perhaps this IS an improvement?!?)

16 ounce can | Total Wine: McLean, Virginia | 21-July-2021 | US$4,99 | 'packaged': 18-January-2021 | sampled: 21-July-2026, on the twenty-first anniversary of the day I met my wife, in the quiet town of Quepos, Costa Rica, and also the exact date I purchased the beer, five years ago!

Can from Maekchu. Big chocolate, cocoa, fudge in the nose. Pitch black. Soft flavors of cocoa, fudge, with a dry and bitter, roasty finish. An excellent no-additives imperial stout.

Pretty damn close to perfect for an imperial stout, at least as far as the flavor profile goes. Infinite darkness in a bottle; tons of roast and char, bittersweet chocolate, molasses, anise, bitter coffee, black cherry, and hints of molasses and caramel. Dry and bitter, viscous and potent, dark and forbidding, boozy and mean. No barrels, no adjuncts, just pure stout glory. Fuck yeah, New Realm.
