Dark Malt and American hops unite to bring a new age of bitterness. Pithy grapefruit and resin combine with a dark chocolate and roasty coffee hit to deliver a resonating bitterness that goes beyond IBUs.

Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, vöröses fekete szín. Citrusos, enyhén gyantás illat, némi pörkölt malátás aromával. Citrusos-citrushéjas, enyhén gyantás ízek, némi pörkölt malátás és halovány karamelles aromával. Hosszú lecsengésű, közepesen testes sör, enyhe szénsavtartalommal, erős keserűvel. Jól összerakott, nincs semmi hibája, de nem is nyűgözött le különösebben.

1/2 Pint (whatever that means in Belgium) draft @ BrewDog Brussels. Black with a very dark red wine huge, little deep tanned head. Nose is thick licorice mixed with pine resin goop hop, herbal raw pine hops blending with the licorice & some lightly roasted but very thick malts. Taste is thick black licorice, herbal pine, very bitter licorice, very low roasted malt, bitter blueberry, low cheesy malt in the finish. Bit black licorice note is interesting even if not totally my thing. Body is very thick syrupy malts with big black licorice. Pretty solid addition to the Hammer series, for me not on par with Jack Hammer, one of their finest beers in my opinion.

Pours black with a large head.Nose shows tropical fruit, spicy and resinous hops along with some soft roast, caramel and fruit confectionery.Aggressive flavours, there’s a bit of fruit before a massive piny bitterness rolls through with a bit of roasted malt as well.

Canned 330ml. -from Pivoteka Zagreb. Darker brown coloured, medium sized pale beige head, hops and light chocolate in the nose. Roasted malt, herbal hops, chocolate, heavy grapefruit, weak notes of caramel and coffee with a bit too crude earthy notes in the finish. Pleasant one but not the best I’ve tried.

Tap at Brewdog Brussels. Juicy, lots of hops character. High bitterness, fruity exotic flavours, very juicy. Malts only form the background, with very little (close to none) roastiness on the scene. Easy drinker, tasty and refreshing.

Can at home. Dark mahogany pour, clear, with a thick tan head. Very hoppy aroma, boatloads of dank and resinous hops, along with a nice amount of roastiness. Taste notes of roasted malts, chocolate, pine resin, grapefruit, citrus and also dank hops, salt. Medium body and carbonation. Bitter finish, refreshing and quite easy to drink.

33cl can from Beer52.com. An opaque peaty brown colour with a loose tan head; resinous hop aroma; deeply bitter in the mouth with a sappy resinous bitterness over a smooth chocolatey body; then sweetening slight towards the finish which has bitter chocolate and coffee grounds, as well as more hops. Rather good.

Can @ Vinens Verden, Odense. Pours black with a small creamy white head. Roast, coffee, chocolate and red grapefruity hops. Crisp and dry. Good juicy hops beneath the roast. Top black IPA
