Dark Malt and American hops unite to bring a new age of bitterness. Pithy grapefruit and resin combine with a dark chocolate and roasty coffee hit to deliver a resonating bitterness that goes beyond IBUs.

[9/27/16] Draught at Brewdog in Brussels. Dark brown. Nice aroma of fruity and piney hops, and some roast. Flavor has a bit of roast, and lots of bitter hops, piney and a bit fruity. Good.

Can from the BrewDog online shop, drunk at home. Cloa brown with a touch of tan head on top. Aggressive piney hop, along with some mild spicy liquorice. The taste is pretty intense, filled with roasted malts and more liquorice. Burnt coffee bitterness in the finish. Slightly acrid aftertaste with hints of hot fudge. Got pretty serious balance problems but still enjoyable.

Can at home. Pours a dark brown to black with a big creamy beige head. Aroma of grass, grapefruit, citrus and some chocolate, coffee and ash. More grassy hops in the flavour along with pine, grapefruit, ash and coffee beans. Has a slick and soft mouth feel, full-bodied and heavy bitterness. A powerful BIPA that is more an IPA than a stout. Pretty heavy on the hops and I prefer a bit more balance. Solid brew anyway.

8/10/16 - 330ml can. Almost black appearance with a thin tan head. Aroma: grapefruit, pine, lightly roasted malt, coffee. Taste: citrus/tropical fruit, grapefruit, lightly roasted malt, coffee, decent bitterness without being overpowering. Smooth mouthfeel, medium-full body, average carbonation, lingering bitter finish. Really nice and well balanced BIPA, not overpowering in any way.

Pours nice balk, decent frothy head, looking beige and persisting for a while. Aroma is fresh, some blackberries, little roast. Taste is quite light, little liquorice candy in hop marinade. Roast is strong and keeps lingering in the mouth even after the beer is long gone. Good BIPA, more on the dry and roasty side.

330ml can. Pours black with quickly dissipated head. Aroma is lots of grapefruit and pine. Flavour is more refined, with the pine met with chocolate biscuit and fruit notes. Lovely.
