Aromatic. Approachable. Unique. Intriguing. Happy-go-lucky. Full-bodied. And we’re not just talking about the horse.
This hop-forward session American Pale Ale uses a blend of classic and modern Pacific Northwest hops, including Mosaic, Ekuanot™ (formerly Equinox) and Glacier, for a pungent blend of peach, mango and tropical aromas. The signature ingredient - oats - are what makes Oatsmobile Ale stand apart, and gives it a body that you don’t see in most other sessionable pale ales.

Bottle from West Side. Pours a slight amber gold with a finger of foam that dissipates quickly. Punchy citrus on the nose, white grapefruit, cat piss. Clean and crisp on the palate, some light caramel. Bitter finish that lingers. Solid.

BIg citric, piney nose followed by a bitter, quick hop bite. Smooth texture, oh-so-drinkable, yet bland in the middle, in need of a bit more oomph in the malt department. Highlights the Citra and Mosaic, which is nice, but needs more character.

Good, just off-white head over finely carbonated, faintly hazy golden beer. Very nice, grapey hops, green/white grapes, passion fruit, fresh herbs, lemongrass. Fien, faint pastry flavour, sweetish, over explosive fruity hops. Perfect balance, at that. Very fine, titilating carbonation, faint hopslickness - maybe the oats (non-identifyable) oiling the gears? WOW! This is a little marvel. John, you rock, man!

Slightly hazy orange color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Aroma of citrus, hops and bready malt. Light-bodied with flavors of pithy citrus, herbal hops and biscuit malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.
