Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Hereford Beer House. Pours clear, deep copper-brown with a modest, foamy tan head. Light-medium sweet flavour with nicely toasted brown bread, berry accents, a few leaves, toasted caramel. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Decent balance to finish, more toasted caramel, brown bread. Totally drinkable gear.

Bottle. Beer Stop Dronfield. Clear dark amber colour with a just off white loose foam. Nose has caramel. Fruit. Slightly sweaty. Taste is dry and lightly vinous. Fairly thin on the palate with fine carbonation. Dry-ish and lightly bitter finish. Bit of caramel lingers. Not too much going on here.

Small yellowish tinted head over clear chestnut-amber beer. Rainwater, bit bready, dry leaves, sweet chestnuts, malts galore, caramel. Sweet with a faint bitterish, leafy finish. Again sweet chestnut, almost swinging to horse chestnut in the end. Very light body, tad watery, with quite spritzy carbonation. Ur-classic German beer. Meaning: nothing wrong with it whatsoever, the result of decennia of experience and dedication. Thanks to Joren for bringing!
