These bottles represent the culmination of a coffee beer project nearly two years in the making. Double Shot, our beloved coffee stout, has been refined time and time again to achieve a beer that is both as robust in its base as it is a worthy purveyor of its respective coffee. We experience flavors and aromas of dark chocolate, caramel, milk chocolate covered espresso beans, and a hint of citrus-like acidity. The mouthfeel is luxurious with a soft and velvety carbonation. It is, in our opinion, the result of what is possible with the careful selection of ingredients paired with attentive brewing execution. 500ml bottle thanks to Steve. pours out black topped with a big fluffy tan head. nose is big coffee cream milk chocolate sweetness roast malts. Taste is more of the heavy roast malts chocolate sweetness big coffee.

Bottle thanks to Brian. Pours black with small tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast coffee bean, dark chocolate, wood. Thick mouth, roast, cocoa, wood, vanilla, very bitter finish, really good.

Den Haag tasting at Maakun’s. Bottle courtesy of Maakun. Black with thin tan head. Amazing roasted coffee taste, dark bitter chocolate, espresso everywhere, nutty, earthy superfine espresso. Sweet and smooth coffee bitter, smooth texture, velvet, dry bitter chocolate finish. Shut up and take my money !

Bottle shared. Black with short lasting creamy light brown head. Massive coffee beans, lots of milk chocolate, cocoa, cookies, maple syrup, dark sugar, roasted malts, super soft chalky notes. Over medium sweet with light roasted bitterness. Over medium bodied with slick feel and soft carbonation with a light dry finish. Massive. Every bit as good as the triple shot, but here the coffee shines through even more.

Growler filled 2/13/16 and drunk 2/20/16, thanks to blisscent.
Lovely pour shows a cascading burnt sienna head atop a moderately hazy milk chocolate color. Head retention is strong.
Rich bread and chocolate in the nose are joined by toffee and lactose-influenced vinousness. Espresso, coffee grind, vanilla; it’s all there. The coffee and lactose are quite prominent, perhaps dominant, but not overdone. No alcohol or flaws noted.
It’s hard to not hold this to an Imperial Stout/Double Stout-type of rating, but it’s important to keep in mind these are certainly not that. While still a big, rather rich stout, it’s not a thick, chewy, booze/roast/malt bomb that many/most Imperial Stouts tend to be. Rather, the milk sugar and the espresso do the talking and the body while respectable, is much lighter than what you’d expect. A bit of syrup from the lactose/coffee and some very heavy "breadiness" or almost a popcorn and grit-like character. I find it in all three of the shot series beers and it’s a bit off-putting (texturally, for the most part). Light anise-flecked bitterness on the end.

64 oz. growler from blisscent. Thanks Nelson! Aroma is espresso beans, road malt, maybe a hint of sugar.
Flavor is heavy on expresso bean with a chocolate candy bar base malt bill. Mouthfeel is exactly want I want in the style... Smooth, creamy texture, mild carbonation with a full body. Dry roast... Wow

Poured from growler thanks Blisscent dark chocolate pour with a nice tan head. Aromas of coffee chocolate coconut and vanilla. Taste is creamy coffee more coffe vanilla and caramel chocolate. Rich creamy mouthfeel. Awesome.

Thanks Nelson for sharing this one. half a gallon growler...please have vanilla flavor added. I had no idea this had Stumptown coffee. Interesting
A - totally black, looks a bit oily, a really god creamy coffee frothy head appeared and faded to a thin line.
S - Smells fantastic. Loads of cold-brew coffee, some cream, coconut and vanilla. slightly woody.
T - Coffee for days and days. there’s a little bit of liquor, fudge, coffee, espresso, creamy.
M - Exceptional creaminess.
O - There is no booze to this. Only 7.5% but it has a nice taste and overall, a great experience. It could be a little bit more roasty.
