Allagash Confluence is a strong golden ale that benefits from mixed fermentation and dry hopping techniques. Brewed with a blend of imported and domestic Pilsner malt, as well as a small portion of caramel malt, Confluence boasts a complex malty profile.
Both our house yeast strain and our proprietary Brettanomyces yeast strain are used in fermentation. This layered approach creates a unique blend of fruit and spice flavors along with an incredibly silky mouthfeel.
After fermentation, Confluence undergoes a lengthy aging process in stainless steel that allows its complex flavors to fully develop. Just prior to bottling, it is dry hopped with Glacier hops, providing a pleasant, fruity aroma.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin bubbly white head. The aroma has strong notes of peaches and other fruits, as well as quite a lot of spices - primarily coriander. The flavor is very sweet with strong notes of peaches, spices, and some brettanomyces, leading to a dry, spicy, and slightly acidic finish.

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. Hazy gold color with a multifinger frothy white head. Lots of spice in the aroma, covering something like citrus. Touch of barnyard. Medium body with sharpish carbonation. Flavor is quite bretty. Lots of light fruit. Some floral bitter. Astringent. Finishes rather pleasantly.

Pours gold into a tulip. Fluffy white head with good retention leaves sheets as it slowly recedes. Funky brett, citric baking soda and fruity hop aromas. Dry and crisp with upfront sour grape and brett. Lasting citric hop finish.

Growler - a lovely hazy glowing golden beer - fizzy body - sticky lace - light sweetness and strong notes of mango and pineapple hit the nose first, followed by some mixed herbal and wildflower notes (lavender), and then the brett kicks it, adding light funky leather and sweaty character - the sweetness isn’t as high in the flavor as in the aroma, which is a good thing, but the mango and pineapple are there - however, the star of the show here is the moderate brett wildness and flinty character that pairs well with dry, bitter herbs, light spicy hops - crisp, dry finish - I would like to see more of the sweetness gone, leaving a bone dry beer, but I still really like this - I haven’t like their brett beers in the past, but this one is well done.

January 2009 Bottle. Pours with a large, rocky white head over a hazed golden body. Head sticks around for a long time. Aroma of leathery brett, earthy, lemon peel, citrus, and light spice. Taste is tart with a brett earthiness, and a ton of hops (Noble included). Quite phenolic. Well hopped brett beer...nearly saison like. Somewhat similar to Saint’s Devotion. Very lively bubbles, dry finish. Good beer.
