This is the kind of beer that gives the word "stout" a reputation. Extra generous quantities of barley malt, followed by vigorous fermentation leaves this "imperial" heavy weight with 8% alcohol A.B.V. and a body as full as chocolate bread pudding. A complimentary and complex array of bitter notes comes form potent American hops, earthy British hops, black-roasted malts and, of course, coffee. Santa Fe Brewing Company uses only top-quality ingredients like organically grown East Timor coffee beans blended with New Guinea coffee beans, locally roasted by O’hori’s Coffee House. Its heavenly flavor and aroma can’t be beat or imitated.

Not really an Imperial Stout. Great coffee stout though. Smooth and really well executed. Luscious rich malts, chocolate coffee. Really pleasant beer.

Dark brown with a frothy, beige head. Aroma a mix of coffee and chocolate, and makes pleasant sniffing. Taste is strongly roasted and bitter with lingering coffee and a mild tartness at the finish. Medium-bodied and a touch flabby for an impy. Not bad.

can. Black pour with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is big and bold with dark roasted coffee, coffee grounds and some burnt grains. The taste echoes the nose with a big coffee and espresso blast. The coffee in the taste is much smoother than I was prepared for--based on the nose I expected this to be harsh. The palate is full and creamy with soft carbonation. Finished long with lingering coffee, Overall: decent--first rate coffee stout.

Dark brown, little head to it. Medium body. Straightforward coffee stout. Bitter coffee nose, coffee malt taste. Mildly bitter finish. This is more stout than imperial stout.

12 oz can from Total wine. whiel not normally a coffee beer guy, this one piqued my interest as it was a Top 50 beer for New Mexico. Dark brown with a beige head, clumpy lacing. Aroma features a nice blend of roast malts and coffee. Taste has the coffee a bit more prominent, but still the coffee bitterness blends nicely with the roast for a well balanced brew.
