Red brown colour. Texture is really rich, smooth and creamy. Quite a sweet malty taste with caramel then a touch of bitterness in the finish. Hop comes through in the aftertaste quite well.

On tap at BQ Naviglio Grande, Milano, Italy. Clear amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, dried fruits and some notes of caramel in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel and hops with dried fruits and alcohol. Rather sweet finish with hint of spices. Interesting but unbalanced.

75cl bottle, BB 17/04/2013, Lot#L04512, shared with Tomaz.

Hazy amber - brown beer. Big tan head. Softish palate with a little prickly carbonation. Rich malt with slightly sweet dark toffee. Malt cream before the seamlessly integrated hop. Nicely joined up. A little bitterness in the aftertaste. Tasty lip smacking beer.

Bottle thanks to Illuvatarmilan at ‘Zieke Zuiden Tasting II’. Hazy red color, no head, just a small white lacing. Smell sweet, slightly bitter but mostly like a weak barleywine. Taste caramel and sweet. Decent carbo, medium body. (Note: best before March 2010)

Clear red brown beer, creamy light beige head, adhesive, pretty stable. Aroma: sweet mocha, sweet malts, bit nutty, brown sugar, a touch of yeast. MF: light carbon, full body, creamy texture. Taste: mohca, toast, caramel, fruity, plums, bitter hops. Aftertaste: mocha, grapefruit, toast, bit fruity, dry bitter ending, alcohol warming the throat. Good but not great beer.

Bottle at GBBF 2011, with Ken and Leighton. It pours dark ruby brown, with a massive, foamy off-white head. The nose is brown bread, dark fruit, sweet malt and caramel. The taste is caramel, toffee, raisin, leather, chocolate, grass, light malt vinegar and brown sugar. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A very drinkable dunkler bock.

Bottle at GBBF 2011, Day 1, shared with Ken and Paul. Pours cloudy ruby with a big, off-white head. Nose holds some toast and dark fruits. Really damn sweet flavor, loads of dark fruit, toast, mild leaves and brown sugar. Slight dough and yeast. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Just damn sweet in the finish with notes of toast and fruit. Really damn tasty. This is what I expect from a dunkler bock.
