On tap @Mad for Beer (Rome). Pours amber/reddish with a medium and persistent off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, toffee, bread crust, light esters, light metallic. Flavour is medium to heavy sweet well balanced with a light bitter end, alcohol is very well hidden. Medium body, medium carbonation. ok.

At a tasting, thanks, small bubbly beige head, cloudy very light brown to orange color, aroma of strawberry jam and brown bread, jammy flavor with some nuttiness and oxidised notes in the back, light bitterness and a light sourness which feels out of place, Not too good, probably a bit old.

Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Deep brown amber, solid off-white head. Nose is metallic, strongly herbal, sugary sweet. Taste is herbal, sugary, licorice, leaves, overly sweet, some Belgian characteristics,… Body is thick sugar & some yeast. Overly sweet & simple, not really into it. I never seem to get these highly rater bock’s.

Small beige head. Hazy brown body with carbonation. Roasty earthy dusty wooden aroma with spicy sugary notes. Dry-sweet roasty sugary rye crisp bread taste with resiny wooden notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish resiny wooden caramelly aftertaste with papery sugary notes. Nice, drinkable, vivid. Full of flavour and very clear. (0.25l draft at Schouskjelleren, Oslo.)

Dark red-brown and thin head. With the glass, this looks for all the world like Schlenkerla Urbock. Aroma has nice maltiness, slightly chewy, and with light toffee...not really all that hoppy mind you.
