An India Pale Ale featuring Nelson Sauvin hops. Named after the Sauvignon Blanc grape, is a variety of hop developed and grown in New Zealand. It has a strong fruity flavor and aroma that is described as resembling white wine, or fresh crushed grapes or gooseberries. Some reviewers of this hop perceive the fruitiness as being very tropical with deScriptions including passion fruit, tangerines, and grapefruit.

Bottle purchased at 7-11Kittery, ME for a pretty hefty price. Slightly hazy gold with lasting retention. Aroma is grapes, mango, sweet malt and a touch of pine. The flavor is exactly as it smells. Fruits up front, (Grapefruit, mango and stone fruit) overall juicy. The backend of the sip some light pine and residual sugar. It also has a light tart note after the sip. This is really flavorful however; I paid $16.99 for the bottle. Yes, I should have my head examined for some sort of mental beer disorder.

For that price I could have bought a more local IPA, have it fresher and have more ounces for my money. Get draft or growler fill because the prices I’m paying for this brewery are insane, don’t be like me.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 7/14/2019. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big pineapple, tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big pineapple, tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of pineapple, tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, gooseberry, white grape/wine, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no hop astringency lingering after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.2%. Overall this is a delicious DIPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not aggressive. Great Nelson Sauvin showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice balanced bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made style example. Not overly sweet/heavy for the ABV.

Pours a cloudy orange-yellow, with middling head that gives way to some lacing. Aroma is full of fruit--citrus, tropical, even some grassiness and hops. Flavor is grassy, with citrus and mango. Dry, bitter finish. A very well-made DIPA.

Pours hazy orange with tropical fruit nose. Tastes of mangos, honey, papaya, grapefruit, florals, and melon. Nice medium body with fruity finish. Add some flavor to bad taste in my mouth by USA Portugal finish.

Pours a light golden color with a little bit of amber to it. It’s quite cloudy. The head is just a shade or so off white. Medium thick blanket of foam. Pretty good retention and some nice lacing. Very pleasant aroma dominated by the fruity, white grapey Nelson Sauvin flavor. It’s a sweet and decently juicy smell. Some grass, tropical fruits, herbs. Simple malt sugariness in the background. Taste starts with sweet light malt backing big Nelson Sauvin hop flavors. Peaches, white grapes, pineapple, grass, raspberries. Light to medium bitterness. Light mouthfeel. Solid beer. Listed as 8.2% abv on the label of this bottle - there seem to be a few different numbers floating around.

The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours amber with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus, and a bit of pine. The bitterness is held to a low amount, but the fruitiness is amped up pretty high. I suppose it was a little winy, but not in any way that would inspire me to say so without the description.
