Sunday Morning Stout, a barrel aged stout from brewmaster Chris Wilson and his team at Weyerbacher. Aptly named too, as SMS is a stout aged in bourbon barrels with coffee. The best part of waking up.

Draft at Alβs of Hampden courtesy of Matt, thank you sir! Jet black color, dark brown head. Aroma of vanilla, dark roast coffee. Taste has burnt espresso, vanilla, dark butter cocoa. Light body. Very tasty.

Sample at the Big Tap In on 04/20/2013. Pours jet black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Patchy lacing. Roasted coffee and malt in the nose along with slight bourbon. Full-bodied with flavors of black coffee, chocolate malt and subtle bourbon. The finish is roasty with a lingering bourbon-infused coffee aftertaste. Pretty good beer.

On tap at EBF 3/16/13. Lots of coffee wafts out of my glass and just about obscures any stout in there. I enjoyed this beer it was good, but I had it shortly after having Tweak from Avery and this pales in comparison. Iβd love to try this again on its own to see how it stacks up.
