Bottle 330ml @ fonefan
Pours clloudy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel and oxidization. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle. A gusher, producing a small, dense off-white head over a more or less clear, dark golden body. Rather malty nose with some toffee and dried fruits. A light oxidation too. It’s toffee-ish and quite fruity, almost citrusy on the palate, medium to full bodied and lightly warming, but the spices promised in the commercial description are well hidden. Well, a decent beer, but nothing extraordinary going on. Not bad for a Christmas beer. 120623

Sampled at OBER Kerstbierfestival Essen 2011. Cloudy, hazy dark red color, small off-white head. Smell sweet, wort, some herbs. Taste sweet, herbs, lightly wort. Low to medium carbonation, low to medium body.

Bottle. Murky brown color, scant white edge head. Aroma of cinnamon, taste is similar. Straightforward.

Light gushing to dense, yellow-cream tinted head over hazy redamber to brownish beer. Roasted malts, sweetish nose and then spices - reasonably balanced, as individual spices hard to recognise - cinnamon, coriander, allspice,...? Speculooskruiden Spiced (coriander now obvious, again cinnamon and allspice/clove); light-sweet, but with a bit watery finish. No roasted notes in the flavour. Warming up, the coriander starts to annoy. Rather too carbonated, and the finish is too light; alcoholwarming, accentuated by the spices. It’s good homebrew, but still... homebrew. OK for a first commercial try.
