Brown 33cl bottle, best before April 2011, drank in Feb 2010. Poured into my ’Westmalle’ chalice. A dull hazy amber/copper/orangey coloured body, with a thin white head stared at me, as I stared at it. I poured the whole bottle into the chalice, so what sediment there was in the bottle must have clouded the beer somewhat, hence the hazy look. Orange peel and sweet molasses (not sickly sweet though) were the smells coming from the glass, some yeast esters too. Unlike most triples, this one had its alcohol full on from the start, no hiding this behind anything at all. Sweet, a bit too sweet for me up front, I prefer any sweetness in a triple to be less obvious. Not sure what they’ve added to this brew, but it has a cinnamon type spicey feel to it, as well as the citrusy notes from the orange peel type smell I detected. Not a triple I’ll look for again, intersting, but just a little on the sweet side for me.

Bottle. Clear golden with big off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, yeast and a little orange peel. Flavour is malt, yeast, hops, medium sweet, little orange peel, little liquorice and a little bitter.

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a blond and tall foamy head. Sweet and slightly candy-ish malty aroma with a dusty and subtle fruity notes of oranges. Moderately sweet and slightly bitter flavour, almost full bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly sugary malty taste with hints of fruitiness; the alcohol shows up towards the moderately sweet and slightly hop bitter finish. Well-palatable. 22.I.12

clear yello to orange with a huge off-white head. Smells mint, green twigs, pear. Tastes a bit sweet, alcohol, blonde beer. Good carbo, medium body.

Dark golden colour, quite firm white head. Aroma sweet malty, rather fruity, some spice. Flavour rather sweet, malts and fruit. Spicy and quite dry finish. (From 33cL bottle)

Bottle. Sweet apple/peach and musty malt aroma. Hazy pale yellow color with giant white head. Sweet apple/white grape malt flavor with a musty, mildly astringent finish. Nice body. Very good.

330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård, Denmark. ABV is 9%. Pale golden colour, slightly hazy, huge white head. Strong sweetish aroma of Belgian ale yeast, white kandi sugar, over-ripe fruits and mild spices. The flavour is sweet with a nice spicness and decent hops throughout, maybe too strong notes of white kandi sugar. Sweet enough to replace a sweet wine with many finer dishes, but has also enough bitterness to avoid being cloying, and retain some refreshing qualities.

330 ml bottle. Sweet honey and pear nose. Flavor is sweet, very fruity, somewhat spicy, pear compote. Big fruity sweetness stood out, but with a nicely hoppy finish to clean it up. Nice stuff.
