Tap @ Kernel tap takeover at van Moll, small sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma has some citrus and funk, vinous, tannines, wood. Bit bitter in taste, funky, bit citric and lactic, vinous. Good.

Hazy blond with no head. There’s definitely a white wine aroma and flavour. Also a touch of sweet fruit. Finish is very dry.

Draft at Uiltje bar. Aroma of tart, red wine, oak and wheat. Rich taste of soft sourness, red fruit, vinous oak, vanilla, bitter hops and a nice fruity oaky finish. Very good.

Keg at Cask Pub & Kitchen, London.
Pale orange, hazy body, with a small, off-white head.
Aroma of barnyard, pears, green apples, wood, lemongrass, unripe fruits, some leather.
Taste is a bit watery, of citrus, pears, sour apples, apricots, wood, some barnyard, some white wine.
Light, slick mouthfeel, with a lively carbonation.
Finishes medium sour, fruity, a bit wooden, a bit vinous, citric.
Nice one, while I was expecting more. I don’t get too much of the wine barrel, a quite straight, easy, sour ale. Drinks fresh, but the taste is too light for me. First beer from this brewery I’ve had that is just decent.

Draught @ In de Wildeman shared by bierkoning. Clear pale yellow golden color, average sized white head. Aroma is pretty nice, slightly sourish in lack of a better way to describe it, wood, tannine (as far as you can actually smell these things, but it’s the association I get). Tastes about the same: slightly tannine, wood, very dry, brett-ish almost. Hard to describe but pretty decent.

Bottle shared. Thanks Neil! Light oak and burgundy wine notes dominate the nose. Tannic on the palate with faint grassy hops with some faint citrus notes. Wonderfully sour and complex while being light and refreshing. Great. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bière De Saison (Burgundy Barrel Aged) on 09 Sep 2016 at 20:41 - Score: 8

BOTTLE 33 CL from the brewery, 5%. Bottled 17.04.2016. Almost clear yellow, small white head. Complex and diverse aroma, ranging from spicy and peppery notes, to white wine and grapes, to a fruity red wine, to vanilla or lactose (presumably from the barrel). Just splendid! The taste is dry, but to too acid - resembling a chardonnay wine. Subtle barrel notes and a very light nutty bitterness in the finish. The carbonation is a bit too close to flat, which does not fit this beer - makes it feel a little too dull. Excellent, otherwise.

330ml bottle from Ales by Mail. BBE 31.07.16. Pours clear yellowish with a small white head. Aroma of vinous notes, berries, sourness, hints of wood, oak and funky wheaty yeastiness. Taste is smooth, slightly sourish and woody with some vinous notes, hints of oak and funky notes. Finish is sweetish and stingy with hints of oak and vinous notes. Okay.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours hazy pale golden with a very small white head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is fruity, wood and tiny funky with crackers, vinous dark grapes, hay, dry soil, dry wood, lemon zest and hints of barnyard and whipped cream. Taste is tiny sour, slightly bitter, fruity, oaky and tiny funky. Mouthfeel is flat, soft, dry, tiny tart, tiny astringent, tiny oily, vinous and light bodied. Finish is vinous and tannic astringent. Tasty wine BA character with light funk but a bit flat which makes it feel a bit dead. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bière De Saison (Burgundy Barrel Aged) on 09 Mar 2016 at 19:58 - Score: 7. Original review text: Love the wine ba character. Bit flat but highly drinkable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bière De Saison (Burgundy Barrel Aged) on 09 Mar 2016 at 19:58 - Score: 7.
