Draught @ Mig & Ølsnedkeren, Mejlgade 12, DK-8000 Aarhus, Denmark. [ As Black Isle Hibernator III ].ABV: 7.0%. Clear dark red brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, bread, dark malt, roasted, sweet malt, dark fruit, fruity malt, oat, rich malt. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, bread, dark malt, roasted, sweet malt, frutiy malt, dark fruit - plum, rich malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 330 ml. bottle @ home. Purchased @ Malt Attacks. BBF 14/07/2016. Dark mocha, big head of mocha bubbles. At first umami dominates a bit in the nose but it turns more towards cacao powder sweet once it warms up, touch thin, creamy with instant coffee, becomes a bit richer when it warms up, less umami, little herbal luckily with warmer temp and more tad thin soy chocolate milk & sweet tannish chocolate,… Taste is a touch bland at first with herbal & umami flavours dominating a bit but leads to a bit thin cacao, cheap chocolate, touch chemical chocolate syrup, light bodied but creamy cacao powder, soy chocolate milk, instant chocolate milk mx, light roast in the back,… I am a bit surprised that a beer of 7 ABV basically need to be drank at near room temperature in order to reveal its flavours optimally. What was at first a mild disappointment, because a neat treat. Light umami & herbal overtones luckily went away as it warmed up. Not bad even if probably a bit too old school for me. This is more of a session affair almost even at this ABV than the extreme modern style Imperial Stouts that I usually turn towards when I want a stout. Pleant, drink almost non-cooled, seriously.

Dark brown. Aroma is chocolatey/fudgey, with oaty notes and some dark sugars. Fairly full body, sweet taste is chocolatey and with a slight nuttiness. Good dessert stout, with a subtle balancing bitterness.

Opaque dark brown beer with a tidy mid tan head. Palate is slightly soft and dry. Modest carbonation. Sweetish creamy dark malts. Smooth light tang. A little lactose. Light sweet fruits underneath with a Belgian yeast like Coca Cola twang. Smooth finish. Tasty.

33cl bottle. Stunning black opaque with lovely creamy head. The nose is smokey and creamy but a little bit closed. The taste is very creamy and the smoke is also still there - there’s an underlying note which is hard to pin down, but it is possibly just the alcohol burn though there is a peatiness. Good structure, very creamy but not sure about the finish. Overall, it promised a lot but left me confused!

Bottled. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, butter, And some chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of butter leading to a very dry finish.

Bottle resembles the bottle I shared with noize, skortila and bullit. But I doubt this to be a golden ale and it doesnt resemble the other ratings below (apart from ours). So might be another beer. Roasted malt, licorice, coffee. English hops. Pretty ok.
