Clear medium to deep ambercolour, a lot of small bubbles, tall frothy off-white head, mostly lasting, heavy lacing. Fruity aroma, pale malts, orange, tangerine, pine. Mild taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, toffee, light citrus, with a long duration. Mild dry bitter finish, herbal notes, medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Very smooth IPA, could use some more bite though.

Apr ’15. A 0.33 l bottle at Vagabund Brauerei, Berlin. It poured hazy orange to copper colored body with medium sized head. Fruity citrus hop aroma, a bit of cloves. Flavor was truly an IPA/HW combo, with latter being much less pronounced. Bitter, only lightly, very balanced IPA with notable chalk, banana, light biscuit and spices (cloves, coriander?). Wheat gave it very smooth mouthfeel. Medium bodied with shorter chalky and herbal hoppy finish. I was thrilled to find such an interesting combination that turns out to be greatly underappreciated here on RB, on account of being weird for an IPA. Shouldn’t the basic purpose of the craft movement be finding new ways to brew something different (and good of course), not only copying each others recipes. Unfortunately, only rarely these experiment happen to be good. This is the case. Wirklich sehr interessant.
