The best beer that I tried from Ceres. Nice head, malty aromas , roasted coffee and caramel taste. Pretty ineresting. If it had a bit more complexity and better body it would rank much higher.

Bottle. Very dark colour allmost black, with a nice but fast disappearing white head. Great aroma of roasted malt and hints of coffee, very smooth. Very pleasant smooth flavour of roastedness, oily like, coffee and some chocolate. Ends up a little dry.

Bottle, 2004 vintage. A clear, dark brown beer with a small, tan head. Some oxidation, roasted and slightly burnt malts, a hint of licorice and dried fruits on the nose. The flavor also has a little oxidation, along with roasted malts and coffee. Some chocolate too. Full-bodied. A bit short on the finish. It’s a quite nice beer, but 5 years in the cellar is certainly more than it can take. Rating: 6-4-6-4-13-3.3. (090327)

Bottled. Very dark brown, with a lasting light tan head. The beer looks, and probably is, clear. Quite mild aroma with coffee. chocolate, some alcohol and roasted notes. The flavor is quite roasted and sweet, with some alcohol. Creamy, full body, and a finish with chocolate, coffee and some drying bitterness. I remember I thought this was one of the most exciting Danish beers. (060520)

Dark brown colour. Hints of stinging alcohol in the largely fruity aroma. The palate is a fairly simplistic endeavour, with a burnt fruitcake note taking the lead. The finish is really rough - both grainy and lagerish with ongoing roast. Its industrial rough edges are a fading hallmark of the style.

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes as "Stowt Jysk Porter". Black, black beer with a small, brownish head. The potent body and the alcohol is felt from the first sip. Bitter not only from the hops, but also from the burned malts. Notes of coffee and licorice, but strangely this beer doesn’t really feel heavy - more impressive. 270600 As "Ceres Royal Stout" 5/3/5/2/10=2,5 120700

The aroma is a mix og chokolate and citrus, and with light-brown head it is a typical stout, but the it has a touch of liquerous in the taste.
